Eh, no biggie. Lots of private hatcheries to stock from. I’d rather see the DNR’s efforts with walleye and trout improved instead of bluegills and catfish.
this. search iowa fish stocking on google on there are plenty of hatcheries with very reasonable prices.Wald0ParticipantOctober 27, 2014 at 2:25 pmPost count: 57Wald0ParticipantOctober 25, 2014 at 4:53 amPost count: 57Wald0ParticipantOctober 24, 2014 at 5:13 pmPost count: 57Wald0ParticipantOctober 24, 2014 at 5:06 pmPost count: 57Wald0ParticipantAugust 11, 2014 at 6:14 pmPost count: 57

Place was a wreck at the end of the fall.. never seen so many big shad and so much garbage. I’m used to the garbage and dead carp, but the size of the shad has me worried. Hopefully this winter killed a bunch of em off.
the section of the creek right after the rocks was completely filled with shad as well
and yes you can shoot the carp with a bowWald0ParticipantMarch 12, 2014 at 8:27 pmPost count: 57Wald0ParticipantMarch 12, 2014 at 8:06 pmPost count: 57Wald0ParticipantFebruary 12, 2014 at 5:56 pmPost count: 57

At brushy spillway can you shoot from the rocks? That fence kinda f’s the whole area for bowfishing I would think.
yes you could shoot from the rocks….not as many hang out on that end though, they stay right by the spillway with the runoff. I’ve seen guys shoot with the fence there….they shoot through it, and if its a big one they just take it over the top.
best bet down there is to go through the fence or there are a lot that make the journey down further into the creek when there is more water…the muskies would make me nervous shooting through the fence. I think its like a $1000 fine if you hit one…..but if you keep it right up next to the spill way you should be ok as they are typically cruzin along the sides of the walls.
If you are good enough we could use it down there…..there are some huge carp and hundreds of them down there.Wald0ParticipantFebruary 12, 2014 at 4:49 amPost count: 57

Just moved to Webster city. Have a boat set up for bowfishing ,this spill way you speak of is where on the lake ? Have only been on the lake on hard water ….
we might need to meet up…im hoping to get into bowfishing this year. I’m also in webster city….you wouldn’t be able to get a boat up to the spillway…
