When I first started geocaching almost 10 years ago, I *hated* UTM coordinates, or anything that didn’t look like DD or DMS. Now, give me the choice between working with DMS coordinates and smacking myself in the kneecap with a ball peen hammer, and I might just choose the hammer.
Love that one
in reply to: Navonics and DNR GPS Coordinates #1620247The ice was a solid and beautiful 7-8″ thick. (Probably thicker now) There was an ATV driving around too while i was out there. Fishing was excellent! I was out on the ice during the early afternoon hours untill dusk. Fishing was great all day though. Largemouth bass were biting well too. Caught 4 or 5 of them, 8 or 9 bluegill, and 3 wipers. Missed many more. Fishing over structure is the key. The lure was a tiny gill pill, tipped with 2-3 spikes. All fish were caught on that, but the wipers were caught on a rattling jigging spoon. Wipers were in 35′ of water, and the other fish were in 8′ of water.
So you caught the gill and bass in only 8 FOW or 8 fee below the ice?

If your hunting private land just rake the trails you take to your stands that’s what my brother and I do then you can get in quietly and you don’t step on and break sticks.
I like this idea, but aren’t you going to have to rake every other day just to keep up? And aren’t you scaring deer away while raking and making a racket? Not being argumentative, just curious.
How about just bagging the leaves on your mower on the way in. At ,east it might be clear on the way out. Lol 😀
