I have a feeling he thought he could put a few screws to me because Im a relatively new customer for him. He actually made a comment about it.
Ill report back when i sell again…I may have to find another means.Ruger 204ParticipantNovember 22, 2014 at 5:44 pmPost count: 197
Sold to Groenewold today…I had 8 to sell and he didnt seem very impressed with any of them. I was told that the long guard fur and black/silver hides were most desirable. I averaged a little over $15/hide. Hides were skinned but not fleshed. I had one real big, thick fur, dark brown hide that only brought $3. I thought it was going to be one of my better ones. I had 3 that he (Mike) didn’t like but took anyways for a couple bucks each. The most was $30.
Just figured I would give a quick update.Ruger 204ParticipantNovember 13, 2014 at 9:13 pmPost count: 197Ruger 204ParticipantNovember 8, 2014 at 2:07 pmPost count: 197Ruger 204ParticipantOctober 28, 2014 at 4:19 pmPost count: 197

If you’re a fur harvester…you won’t entertain a caliber that is much larger than a 0.223. I use a Ruger .204 and have killed coyotes with good confidence out at 300 and close to 400 has been my longest shot. This is all assuming that you want to process the hide and not waste the animal. Everyone loves the AR and they are very cool. However, if you need more than 5 shots to kill what you’re shooting at…you probably shouldn’t be shooting at it to begin with.
Honestly, I rarely carry a rifle any more. My truck is loaded with dog power. A good 3 to 6 foxhounds and I’m having a lot of fun.
good luck in your quest for the perfect predator rifleRuger 204ParticipantFebruary 24, 2014 at 9:33 pmPost count: 197Ruger 204ParticipantFebruary 12, 2014 at 1:31 amPost count: 197Ruger 204ParticipantFebruary 1, 2014 at 2:41 pmPost count: 197Ruger 204ParticipantJanuary 27, 2014 at 7:35 pmPost count: 197
I have posted on here and Vargy’s coyote hunting website. I also told a coon hunting buddy of mine so I am sure he will be watching those websites.
I was just east of Cambridge Iowa…between Cambridge and Maxwell.
After I found the dog and got her back in the box…I kept hunting and was hoping he or she would turn the collar back on so I could get another signal on it…no such luck. We stopped by and talked to the local land owners, gave them the vehicle description and they promise to stop anyone fitting that vehicle description to question them. Land owner was pretty upset as well!
Thanks everyone, I appreciate it!Ruger 204ParticipantJanuary 27, 2014 at 5:06 pmPost count: 197
I called Garmin and reported it stolen. However, I was disappointed with their response. They said that there isnt much they can do. They even told me that if the thief sends in the collar to be fixed, they will fix it without any questions asked. I guess the maintenance department doesn’t even look at the serial numbers when they fix stuff so the Garmin representative told me that they will not even know if it was stolen. Plausible deniability.
I would think that they would be able to use modern technology to catch stolen equipment from being serviced…I must be expecting too much out of a global company that has to have a way of global communication between it’s internal pieces.
kind of bummed out over the whole thing.Ruger 204ParticipantJanuary 9, 2014 at 7:09 pmPost count: 197Ruger 204ParticipantDecember 18, 2013 at 11:20 pmPost count: 197Ruger 204ParticipantDecember 9, 2013 at 8:43 pmPost count: 197

You can NOT carry a rifle during shotgun season. You can hunt them just not with a rifle
Ahhhh, the internet.
Do your own research. Get a fine or go to jail on your own knowledge.
You could always leave the guns at home and load up the hounds. Launch a couple hair missiles instead of bullets!
However, Im waiting for gun season to play out before I wake the hounds up and get them running.
