I caught about a four pounder at Storm Lake jigging a slender spoon with a minnow head.
Wa hoping it was something else  but was still fun.

Yup. Cold out. I hate it when it’s like this. All I do is sit around and eat!

What?? I think he is just getting into bowhunting. The last thing he needs is to figr out if sumpn he is tryn to shoot is 20 or 50
yards away. I have shot plenty of deer without one. First things first.

If you are just getting into bowhunting, you don’t need a rangefinder

    I like reading your posts, but I don’t have anything centerfire over a 5″ barrel. I use a Dillon 550 and load 38 and 45. I don’t even have
    a 22 rifle but a few pistols.

Took my kids to the local lake a couple of miles from town to ice fish for a bit. I knew they prolly wouldn’t last too long as I had
no shack and it was cold. I want to say they were 4 and 5 years old. We caught about a dozen gills before we hung it up.
Put the frozen fish in a bucket and we headed home. Got the kids coats off and hung on the hall tree and off they went.
I was watching TV but kept hearing something by the front door and even got up and looked out the window. Finally I stood over
there and waited. Soon my son’s coat pocket started flapping. He had put one of the frozen gills in his pocket and it thawed out
    and came back to life.

I have one that I think was some kind of perch sweetheart and a couple of more heavier ones including a 32 or so
heavy one. They must be 15 years old or so but were cutting edge at the time.

Good idea chili. She has a few of those down in what used to be a basement but is now a quilting room.
She says that sewing and quilting are two different things. Who knew! She quilts but apparently doesn’t sew.

ya wondered. As much as I hunt anymore I could prolly just put 2 in the gun and two in my
    hip pocket and be good.

North coon. I like warm cloudy days. Not a lot of spots you can’t see bottom. Afternoon is probably better than morning
    this time of year.

Caught a dozen or so the last 3 times out. Water is getting pretty cold to stand in with my uninsulated rubber boots!
