Belated thanksgiving to you too.  Went out of town and visited in Omaha.   Great weather.

Do not communicate with anyone who might be hunting.  Agree with Brad.  No tag needed.

Just got back from Sioux falls,  across hwy9.  Deer definitely moving had 3 chases cross the road ahead of me.  No chance to check headgear.  Busy avoiding them.

FWIW, saw two fair sized flocks of BWT yesterday going to Worthington from Lake Park.

Hate to say “I told you so” but I will.  It was a pie in the sky deal. A few of us saw thru it immediately.

A few herons and two swans.  Half of Iowa is duck ponds,  really wet this year.  Just cracked 50″ so far for the year.   I haven’t hunted waterfowl in years.  Still enjoy looking at them tho.

Dirt, about the same over here in Dickinson and west.  Rain beat us up bad.

All about taxes.  Basic math.  Ethanol has less btu’s.   My van is flexible fuel.  Going to see how well it likes E85 one of these days.

Thoughts.  I have used pretty much everything from 5 gang spears to compound.  My favorite is a solid fiberglass semi-recurve. When you get home just wash it off with the hose.  I like about 45#.   A lot of my shooting was done near shore, rocks.  When I  tried a compound I  found I was tearing up to many tips and shafts.    So I  have usually opted for the cheap and easy option.  Suggestion .  If you want to go cheap check you local pawn shop for gear.
