Get in touch with your local NRCS office. They may have cost share to enhance the wetland and ensure you don’t violate any wetland compliance law.

Ive been looking at the Eskimo gas augers and cant decide which one to buy. Can someone with experience give me an idea of what the difference between the 33cc and the 43cc is?

I obviously know the 43cc has a bigger motor, but what advantage would that have over the 33cc? Would it just drill faster? Its $40 more so I dont want to pay the extra if I dont need it.

It would drill a little faster and weigh a little more. I have a 33cc and it still runs like a top. Kind of a wash. I personally don’t mind drilling a little slower to save a little weight.

I would recommend getting in touch with the DNR, I’m sure they would like to look into it.

A lot of the vegetation has died out and the recreational boaters are gone for the most part. Fishing has been pretty good this year!

Has anyone seen the goats that are near bays branch in Panora? There are goats that graze in the refuge as pat of some goat grazing program (I am assuming set up by the DNR). Not sure what that is supposed to do for the wetland.

Eat invasives that fire can’t get to. They can’t exactly recreate the disturbance buffalo had, so goats will have to do.

I guess I’m just happy to have a pull off instead of having to park on the road 🙄

If he lives close to the Skunk River, you can wet wade into some pretty fun smallmouth fishing.

I use Yamamoto Senko only. There are lots of different brands. They all behave differently. I like the Yamamoto brand because they are about the heaviest ones. I’m impatient. I also put a heavy 5/0 hook in them to make them sink even faster. Other brands I’ve tried just aren’t as heavy. If your wacky rigging it you could try an O-ring. It helps a lot. Also, FYI, stickbaits refer to hard jekbaits. Senkos are considered weightless worms category.

Some refer to them as stick baits as well. Senko is a copyright by Yamamoto so other companies can’t use the term

In my opinion, expensive camo only has a place in regards to how warm, waterproof, or tough it is. I don’t think pattern matters much. Higher end patterns often have higher quality, but not always…

There is currently a bipartisan bill beginning to address this.
