    Went to George Wyth today fishing for Pike and what ever else would bite, nothing on the tip ups for pike and the blue gill, perch and crappies we caught were all dinks is the par for the course?

    When my cast need to be cleaned I do it the old time way and through it in the camp fire. Slowly warm it first, get cast as hot as you can,(white hot to red hot), let cool to touch, scrub with scotch bright (the brown one) in as hot of water you can stand, rinse very hot water and dry quickly. Season as others have said. Your cast will be as good as new. It takes alot of wood but is well worth it.

    Oh and by the way if it has wire bale be sure to remove it first or it will melt.
