Doesn’t much matter if it was kahki. Your going to cover it anyway aren’t you?

Yeah I give up. Another winter without a dawg. 😥 😥 😥 I actually seen one this winter while doing a set. So…. Unless I am pressured by a calling buddy to go. I am switching gears to open water fishing…

I’m still shooting the SBE I. I love it. I won it at a DU banquet, is the only reason I own it. It’s roughly ten years old and I just got it back from the gunsmith for a broken ejector. The only trouble I have ever had. I wasn’t to impressed with the II but I am excited to see the Vinci. But I am sure I will continue to carry the I.

A buddy and I called in one this morning. I think lonesome howls are the answer right now with the mating season. Unfortunatley I didn’t see the coyote till about 250-300 yard and it was leaving. Not sure what happened but I am guessing it got down wind unseen and made us out and I caught a glimpse as it was on the outs. But after the dry spell I have had, just a glimpse puts a little wind in my sail to keep on callin’. Hang in there it is definatley the toughest hunting here in Iowa.

Nice choice in music. It was like a coyote soap opera. She must be looking for a valentine. 😀

I have the Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14×40 on my .204. I was looking into a 3×9 and Earnie from Sport Outfitters in Marion talked me into it. I have been happy with it and the sight focus someone else mentioned is a neat feature. I don’t think you will be disapointed with either of your choices…

I totally agree with the sheriff. I don’t think he should have been outspoken so “loudly.” Might be just a little unprofessional. Kinda like my job we cuss the crazy DA motorists, but amongst ourselves. I do think there should be a fee for the people that put themselves into this situation. Like that people that do those extreme sports and something goes wrong. If you can’t afford it, you can’t play. I wonder how they get all the gear off the iceberg? Just my opinion here, like alot of others. I forwarded this to my Uncle that is a Chief for the USCG in Virginia that is transfering to Cleveland this summer. It will be intersting to see what he says. 😀

    I am pretty sure Cabela’s bought the brand Herter’s. I own a 1960’s Herters Goose/Duck Skiff.

😆 I can just see a pup lab jumping all over me as I do some calling. How old is it? I have taken my old girl shes ten and loves to go. She will sit and stay very well so if I ever get another called in it shall be interesting.

😆 Larry you sure can tell in your posts what you rather be hunting. Thanks for the post! But let the stories continue you can’t just throw up pictures like that and not tell a story ❗ I thought maybe there would be a picture of your Herter’s boat in there. Did you forget? did you see mine? Anyway I may have to try this “lawnchair hunting” I have a finisher layout blind and I hate to lay in it. I should shed some pounds. 🙂 Maybe it will be more comfortable. Anyway did some calling on Saturday and called in crows and an eagle so I am doing as you say and looking into our setups now. This friend of yours near Urbana does he happen to go by Al? I got some permission to hunt some ground and they said an Al hunts it sometimes but go ahead and kill them all. The first I have heard of any competiton for the ole coyote. Thanks Duckmaster!

Yucky! I don’t care what you say or who says it. The coyotes can have it.

I remember when you left. It’s in the past. I noticed you were back. You have a lot of info to add. I am very happy with your decision. Now get to the outdoors and get back with pics and post.
We are happy you are back.
