You can contact any DNR personnel via email using [email protected] To figure out who you need to contact directly use this link to a PDF file that you will need to download —> http://www.iowadnr.gov/Portals/idnr/uploads/contacts/county_resource_guide.pdf This PDF file contains all contact info for Iowa’s 99 counties officers.
Here’s a screen shot of what the PDF looks like…99 pages, one for every county B)HawgHunterParticipantAugust 1, 2016 at 11:50 pmPost count: 164HawgHunterParticipantJuly 20, 2016 at 10:00 pmPost count: 164HawgHunterParticipantJuly 18, 2016 at 10:51 pmPost count: 164

I was out there today and shocked at the trash in the water and on the shore. Cant they already but a few garbage cans out there. It was my second time there just for a walk with my son. We picked up what we coukd carry but wow we were both disappointed. Saw a few guys fishing without any luck looked like.
Sucks to hear about all he trash, it drives me insane the way some can litter and never give it a thought? I just don’t get it??
I applaud you and your son for doing your part for the community B) But, one can’t blame it on the lack of trash cans however, it is EVERYONE’S responsibility to take out what you bring in…PERIOD.

Sounds like Ryan is your guy. ^^
I have had a boat on there several times in the past before they told us that we couldn’t just use our trolling motor. I can tell you that you won’t have much of a contour map at the end of the day. One day out there I zig zagged across the entire lake and 90% of the lake is a very flat 5′. The east side does have some 6 and 7 foot water up fairly close to the bank and there is a little deeper water under the two south bridges. Other than that it’s flat as a table 😀
It will be interesting to see what you find and hopefully you will post it up here to see.HawgHunterParticipantOctober 23, 2013 at 1:47 amPost count: 164
I’ve seen the conversation about this article on a few different sites now and I came across the following post that sums it up perfectly IMHO.
I can tell this guy dug at a few of your heart strings. Imagine if you were still playing baseball or football at our ages and the pro’s “came to town” to play.
This is sentimental. Fishing can be whatever you want – high, low tech, intensity, whatever.
I’ve fished tourneys for 3 species in about 10 states. Sometimes for purses of 50k. I have never, nor do many guys I know, fish for M O N E Y. Tourney fisherman are, for the most part, the most broke pecker on their block. I have rarely, or ever, seen disrespect of the non-angling public on the water. If anything, the public likes to get into the middle of tourney guys.
A lot of walleye pro’s live in a trailer, single, with a 10 yr old truck with 200k miles and a 60k boat they don’t own stuck in a snow bank without a tarp but hope to sell at break even.
Do they/we all dream of some “big” tourney break through – winning a classic or something like that, sure. We’d dream of winning a super bowl if an adult football league gave us a chance to get there too.
It’s public water. Deal with it. If drowning a worm in bibs makes you happy, go for it. I go that way myself once in a while. But tourney guys don’t rape a fishery, suck out the resources or go after ma and pa.
Remind me how many bass a tourney angler eats?
My response. I don’t have to justify tourney fishing anymore than that guy has to justify being a communist.HawgHunterParticipantAugust 3, 2013 at 10:52 pmPost count: 164
