The bottom line is if the dogs get on parcels of ground that the landowner/tenant or person in control of the parcel of ground don’t want the dogs on then the humans owning the dogs don’t have full control of their dogs at all times. And it is trespassing.

I have had my go around with several different groups of coyote hunters, but not so much anymore. Anyway I can’t tell you where it is in the code there is a clause covering this. I had a group come through one time spooked the cows and calves through 2 barbwire fences and were wild for over a month. I was pissed. Called the Co he came right out and read the riot act to the hunters. They told him nothing he could do about it. He pulls out his book and says uh huh, uh huh. They said uh huh what? He said, it says right here, While in the act of coyote hunting with dogs, persons engaged in the hunt will have full control of their dogs at all times so as to not cause damage, injury or personal hardship to property, livestock, pets and to property owners of land that the dogs may or may not be upon while engaged in the chase.

How are we supposed to do that, the dogs don’t know to stop chasing the coyotes where they are not supposed to go? The Co said, you will have full control at all times and it looks to me like you do not have full control of your dogs as this is the 4th call that I have got this morning from mad farmers out here in this area about dogs spooking cattle and running them through fences and we won’t be having anymore of that. Id suggest you get the dogs called in rounded up and move on. And in the future I would be finding out where you can and can’t be hunting coyotes with dogs before you go. He then wrote them out a ticket and handed it to them.

With that said I don’t have a problem with groups coyote hunting on me if they stay completely away from the livestock and where I tell them not to be.

If I were hunting on public ground really close to the property line with the adjoining private ground and there were ANY buildings over on the private ground, I myself would not be shooting at any game animal that was between me and those buildings. It is not a safe shot to take. 1st rule is to know what is beyond the game animal you are shooting at to make a informed decision as to whether it is safe to take a shot. Buildings behind the animal is NOT a safe shot.

I found something out yesterday with the speed problem. I was logged on to the site and I waited and waited and finally gave up as it wouldn’t load what I wanted to look at. I went to another site and then decided to dump my cookies and came back to this site and try it again. Of course I was not automatically logged in. But every topic that I clicked on loaded within 30 sec or way less. I thought oh, its going to work. So I logged in. Nope nada, nothing. It was just like it was before when I was logged in. I waited and waited and waited and gave up. I logged out and went to another site and then came back to this site and didn’t login. Bingo! Every topic I clicked on loaded within that 30 sec or less time frame.

So I don’t know if any of this info will help or if the tech people already know about this scenario that I tried, but thought I would let you know what happened with what I tried.

Right now the site has been working most excellent speed wise.

I don’t mind taking the training and getting my sticker and give them 10 bucks if I am trailering my boat to Mn to use in Mn lakes. But I don’t like the idea of them making me do this when all I do or would do is trailer my boat through Mn to use elsewhere outside of the state of Mn borders.

I never buy a hunting license, but I never hunt anywhere but on my own ground.

This is absolutely ridiculous if you are just trailering your boat through Mn on the way to canada. Those of us over here on the western side of the state can take I29 north to pembina without going through Mn.

i feel deer are still way down from what most of us would like. we have more food than either of our northern bordering states and only carry half the herd they have. i hunt all over the state and there were some areas down south that had good numbers but in NE iowa i never saw more than 3 deer in one night. 7 years ago i couldve sat and picked out the biggest doe any evening plus had shots at others. they will rebound as long as we continue to monitor our kills ourselves. ive also met more than one person that has stated they dont bother to call in their harvests. im sure there is a formula the dnr uses to factor this in but i just wonder how many really call in every deer

I think this not reporting your deer thing is going to come to a slow but steady halt as it is a $195 fine for not reporting. It takes all of 3 min or less to report from the time you login until you get the conformation number. I have heard of several that have been dinged with the $195 fine. I hope the DNR decides to take it to heart and go whole hog and bust everyone of the non reporting tag fillers. If there was 5128 deer not reported that fine money would total $999960.00 $40 bucks short of a million dollars. That would go a long way in helping fund the DNR.

you got to be joking. if you couldnt get a deer during the gun season thats just the breaks. ive heard and seen more mature bucks harvested this year than any of the previous 5. both during shotguna nd during bow. and for the comment about lets get the deer heard under control. wth- our numbers are still way down over the entire state. im sure the guys in western iowa want just that more deer harvested and even lower numbers. even the public i hunt in NE iowa doesnt even compare to 7-8 years ago. im all for leaving things the way they are or ending the second season shotgun. how bout that

That would be fine ending the second season shotgun and giving me back my 2 week late season after the late muzzy season is over.
