I have ordered several from Stark Bros. They have a 1 year guarantee and lots of good info on the website. They will come bare root and pruned to the trunk but they take off quick.

Another vote for Red Rock. Ville isn’t even close to as good.

This is nothing like gun laws. It has to do with protecting our fisheries. If you had to be within site of them it would be a lot easier to enforce if somebody was not complying with the laws. I don’t see why you should be allowed more of these than a fishing pole, they aren’t that different. Hell, compare them to a tip up, you aren’t allowed to set them all over the place and have more than the # of poles you can have. Minnesota doesn’t allow them and there catfish fishery is a lot better than we have.

I think the law should be changed to match the number of fishing poles you are allowed and you should have to be within site of them. Too many people set these illegally with no tags, too many, etc.

I was thinking of planting a peach tree next year too. A friend has one and he said the Japanese beetles ate all the peaches this year. Any suggestions for controlling them?

I went as far down lake as the eastern side of whitebreast and it was all about the same. Way up in whitebreast was muddy too. I was a little surprised how bad it was.

I think the temps are there, I saw about 55 yesterday. Really muddy is making the fishing bad though. I bet I couldn’t see 6″ yesterday.

I have had a couple of sets of cooper AT3’s. First set was on a Tacoma and they worked good, but I lived in town at the time. I now live on a gravel and wont be buying them again. I get a new puncture from the rocks a couple times a month. I bet I got about 20 patches or plugs in them with 30-40K miles and cant wait to get something different.

Buddy talked to the DNR about the shad last year and they have no plans to drain it again. He said they are why the bluegill fishery is in the dumpster on that lake. They are definitely thick in there.

No pics and the water was pretty clear, didn’t see any algae. I heard it was bloomed up a couple of weeks ago but it wasn’t anymore. It looked like a lot of vegetation was dead, makes me suspicious of what happened.

I got that same pole and its good to know how much pressure it will take. I cant believe it didn’t break when it ran under the boat.

I caught some in spawning locations on a central iowa lake last weekend. With this heat I would think its going to be over quick though.

I got 2.5″ just north of Indianola. Check out weather underground. They have links to gauges all over, including one in Indianola. I think it said 1.9″.

Clethodim mixed with crop oil. I ordered some from keystone pest. Just be advised its slow acting but it works.

I put an abu Garcia record on a nice cat pole last year. Never got a chance to hook into anything super big with it but is casted better than the C3. Picked it up on Ebay used in like new shape for about the cost of a C3.

If you hear a bark like that most likely you just got busted and the coyote is just warning all the other ones to stay away.

Try VanDykes Taxidermy online, I think you can buy just the skull plate.

I’ve poured my own but recently I started buying them on ebay. I have gotten some cheaper on there than I could even buy the hooks for.

Thanks for the heads up. Somebody needs to open a bait store closer to that lake.
