It will be interesting to see how the Odessa yeomanry turns out. Personal opinion it’s way too late in the year.

Ya it sucks but what can you do, people have the right just as much as we do to be there. I shot a decent buck a few years back and 20 minutes later had a guy walk across the field in front of me and walk up the trail the buck ran down. I thought for sure he would kick up the blood trail and make it hard to find. The worse part of it was that he parked right beside me. We followed the blood trail about 45 min. later and it led us right by his stand. We lost blood and didn’t know we were near him and he hollers ” There is blood up here” Sure enough the buck lay 30 yards past his stand. So at least he was nice enough to point us in the right direction lol

    Post the damn video already……………………

Stitch, I believe what the OP meant was that his dad saw one running, then went home to find a video of one running online to confirm. I don’t think he meant that he, his dad, or anyone else for that matter, claims to have video of said wolverine. Correct, OP?

10-4, thanks! That does make a bit more sense

I like how they had to do a group vote on whether or not to move the group to a better location. Where do you sign up for stuff like this? I want in!

Probably the closest you’d come is taking one of Cody Lundin’s survival schools, but yeah…. it’d be pretty sweet to be a participant in a study like that.

Cody is a fruit cake!! But that would be quite the experience as well lol

Back in the 1800’s wolverine’s were in the North Eastern part of the state, but sightings were few and far between just like the Mountain Lions were at that time. With the arrival of people they moved on or stayed away.

But more than likely what has been spotted here is a large weasel. And the wolverine is a member of the weasel family.

I’d have to say its 100% wolverine not a weasel. My dad has been a very avid hunter since I can remember and if he thinks its a wovlerine and double checks pics and videos online and still says its a wolverine, then by god I believe him lol. Just hope someone else sees him so there is no doubt by my fellow Iowa sportsman

Anyone watch I, Caveman on Discovery?

The atlatl darts were pretty neat. Too bad they didn’t delve into the flintnapping and weapons a little more.

I wonder if they got a special permit to hunt elk with the atlatl, last I knew it wasn’t a legal means of take.

I believe in certain states spears and stone points are a legal method of take. Iowa is not one of them. If you look in places like 3 Rivers Archery you can buy pre-made stone points that are produced to a exact weight that are +/- within 5 grains of each other. I always thought it would be neat to take a deer with true traditional stuff, long bow, cedar arrow and stone point, just can’t do it here in Iowa!

You cant shoot a deer with a self bow and arrow?

I wash and dry my clothes (all of them) in scent free stuff. Put them in a rubber tote with fresh earth waffers after spraying down the tote and clothes, just to be safe. I shower with scent free soap and I also use chloryphil??? sorry for the spelling, It is suppose to help rid you of human odor. Take a tablet or 2 every day for a few weeks prior to and during the season. I chew one up on my way to the stand to help rid of oral odor. Just my 2 cents
