Not intended to hijack the OP’s post, but did anyone else watch the show about cats the other night about how cats evolved and are about the most versatile and adaptable species on the planet? They are literally everywhere. It was a very interesting and educational show.
I saw it, very good. Couldn’t believe the guy that was pals with the lion pride.
I would hazard a guess that he doesn’t guide Lion hunts in S. Africa.ahartungParticipantOctober 15, 2017 at 2:02 amPost count: 123ahartungParticipantOctober 13, 2017 at 6:59 pmPost count: 123ahartungParticipantOctober 3, 2016 at 10:12 amPost count: 123ahartungParticipantSeptember 24, 2016 at 5:51 pmPost count: 123
Nice. Have you had to play with the powder charge to get that group? I’ve heard each muzzleloader tends to like a particular charge amount. I haven’t run enough variants though mine as I should, but last time I had it out a few years back I got a three shot group at 100 yards under 3/4″ from a bench rest. That’s pretty damn good IMHO. However, I don’t have that projectile anymore, so will probably need to work up a new load.ahartungParticipantSeptember 23, 2016 at 7:13 pmPost count: 123ahartungParticipantSeptember 23, 2016 at 7:10 pmPost count: 123ahartungParticipantSeptember 17, 2016 at 3:58 amPost count: 123ahartungParticipantSeptember 5, 2016 at 8:24 pmPost count: 123ahartungParticipantSeptember 5, 2016 at 7:51 pmPost count: 123
I always liked those, probably the best web weavers around here. I used to love catching bugs and throwing them in the web to watch the spider wrap them up when I was a kid. Seemed to really like being among the tomatoes.
Great photos, what kind of camera do you have? Using the macro setting?
How do you tell the sex on them?ahartungParticipantSeptember 1, 2016 at 6:56 pmPost count: 123ahartungParticipantSeptember 1, 2016 at 6:32 pmPost count: 123
Limited out by 8am, first time I’ve hit the limit ever. There were four of us and two other groups totaling four more guys and they all hit it too. Going to try tomorrow, but don’t expect anything like today. Big group of six hunters moved in as we were leaving.
Heard a bunch of quail whistling all around before the shooting got really hot. Been a long time since I’ve heard that.
Landlord wont let me shoot the giant Eurasian collard ones on the property here. 🙁 Four were flying around as I got home. They taunt me.ahartungParticipantAugust 31, 2016 at 5:19 amPost count: 123ahartungParticipantAugust 28, 2016 at 2:45 amPost count: 123ahartungParticipantAugust 28, 2016 at 2:39 amPost count: 123ahartungParticipantAugust 25, 2016 at 10:27 pmPost count: 123ahartungParticipantAugust 24, 2016 at 10:13 pmPost count: 123ahartungParticipantAugust 23, 2016 at 1:24 amPost count: 123

I was at my farm this past weekend and was pleased to run into two separate coveys and I suspect there are more than what I did see. I heard quail whistling many times, just about whenever I didn’t have the tractor running..
What part of Iowa is your farm? Not looking for specifics, just an rough idea of the region, or which county if you’d like.ahartungParticipantAugust 23, 2016 at 1:21 amPost count: 123
