    Hey Everyone!

I am thinking about taking a trip up to Northeast Iowa next week to kayak and fish the Upper Iowa River. Anyone been up lately? I’m thinking about staying at Chimmney Rocks or Hutchinsons. I’ve herd the fishing and scenery is fantastic up there!

Does anyone have a specific recommendation on a certain stretch of the river up there? Not really picky about what I catch, but would prefer walleye & trout.

    Thanks for the help!

I grew up in Decorah. The section you mentioned is good fishing; anywhere from town upstream is good for trout and walleye. I always prefered fishing below the lower dam because there’s all of the above plus pike, sauger, etc…..anything you’d catch in the Mississippi.
