    Out duck hunting a couple of weeks ago and saw maybe fifty trumpeter swans fly over.  First time I’ve ever seen swans in the wild.  It was great.

    I have seen several groups of swans this fall and generally see some most years. They are a beautiful bird and it is always a treat to see them.

    I agree that swans are most elegant… until they get close enough that you can here them! Easily the dumbest sounding birds IMHO

    They are really coming back! There is about 200 wintering near Quincy, IL. Always in a borrow pit or nearby cornfield. So very cool!

    Been about 30 feeding  a half mile north of my place in the corn stubble for about 2 weeks, wonderful birds they are elegant looking through the spotting scope. Montour area.

    I started seeing them couple yrs back in NE Iowa when deer hunting.  I live S of Mason City and I now see them quite often.  Know some spent their Winter on Crystal Lake.  Next to Forest City.  To me they sound better than Geese!
