So I bought a predator 420 to replace the honda gx390. I have the keyway out and have everything loose, but the u joint seems to be stuck on crankshaft of the honda. I’ve soaked it in pb blaster, heated it up with a small torch, poured cool water on it hoping it would break loose with it expanding and shrinking. I’ve been hitting a long pipe with a 4 lb sledge hammer to break it loose and “pry” it off. No movement whatsoever. Is there anything else I can try?

May try to “push” the key out of the two grooves, then try to remove the U-Joint. The key may be slightly bent creating a binding situation.

    Edit:

I see you have the key out, over looked that. Maybe the end of the shaft is slightly mushroomed, possibly press the u-joint back on and get some Emory cloth around the shaft and sand it ??
