So I just bought a boat from a friend of mine for fairly cheap, the motor on it is a johnson 20 hp 2 stroke. It’s been sitting for about 3 to 4 years and its seized up from not being ran for so long. Is there anyway to unseize it? I’ve tried soaking the cylinders with pb blaster and 2 stroke oil with no luck.

Take the recoil assembly off and put a 3/4″ wrench on the flywheel nut. See if you can get it broke free that way. I have unseized many over the years using multiple (sometimes not so nice) methods.

Some people have soaked the pistons etc in diesel fuel.  Dot this over a period of time and like previous poster try to manually work things free.  Talked to motorcycle guys and have been told that this will eventually work (like a possibly LONG time).  If only sitting for couple years probably will not take much to free up.   Once loose try to get all the diesel fuel out of motor.  Wish you luck!
