Do I need to have some kind of a permit to purchase this gun?
Since it’s a handgun, standard rules apply, must be 21, if you have never undergone a background check to buy a firearm you will have to do that, there will be a waiting period to take possession. I got my CCW a few years back and now all I have to do is show my card and any purchase I make is cash and carry. Highly recommend that!Greg 57ParticipantJanuary 16, 2021 at 7:49 amPost count: 58
If I read this correctly. It is a Ruger 10/22 which would be a rifle.
As to your question. Yes and No.
If it is a handgun you will need to go to the sheriff’s office in your country and get a permit to aquire or take the class and take that info to the Sheriff’s office and get your CCW. Either one will allow you to purchase a long gun or a handgun.
Even if you would purchase a handgun from a person that wasn’t a firearms dealer, you would need a permit, CCW or a permit to acquire.
As for the purchase of a long gun, shotgun or rifle. They can call NICs (National Instant Background Check System). I beleive this is run by the ATF. So in this case, you really don’t need to go the the Sheriff’s Office.
Hope this answers your question.
