    I just got a new Jake mobile decoy and it comes with a silk fan, I was wondering if that would work or if I should go with the real thing. I do have a jakes tail from a few seasons back and I think with a little tinkering could mount it up, or would that be a waste of time.

    If you have the real deal, why not? Besides being more difficult to carry, I don’t see any other downsides.

    I attach the real fan to my jake decoy (featherflex foam one) with a pair of 3″ spring clamps. Works great.

    Use the real fan, unless you are hunting in the rain,then use the silk fan. Rain can be pretty tough on the real ones.

    That was the plan but I was worried about having to cart one more piece into the field and then not being all that mobile if plans changed
