Going up to Northern Minnesota Grand Rapids area early June. Going after panfish. Rings, gills, craps & rockys! Taking a boat but looking to fish the smaller lakes. Anyone know of any decent smaller lakes around that area?

Big and little jessy and jack the hoarse and good. Although tons of great options. Nothstar is smallish and has a good resort.

Little jessie has been on the decline last couple yrs. Big lakes just get wind & big waves. Never tried north star but wanted to. Thanks for input though! Been goin up w/ the Dude last couple yrs but seems like weather or lakes have been on decline. Have our lakes but other don’t seem to be as productive.

Pike Bay/Cass Lake is just west of Deer
Pike Bay has the largest and fiercest Rock bass I have ever encountered. Good gills, bajillions of perch, but not much size. Have caught the occasional nice crappie, but have never targeted them.

If you go to Grand Rapids website they will send you information about the area. http://www.visitgrandrapids.com or from their website you can go to maps and see all the lakes in the area.
