    I have an old Chatellerault M I.F. 1892 MD rifle and the only info I can find is that it is a French rifle. Just seeing if anyone can tell me anything else about it.

    Last picture shows what looks like 1917. This might be year of manufacture and if so puts it square in WWI territory. If memory serves the Lebel was the main service arm of the French army at that time, so this may be a more uncommon firearm. No idea on worth, though. Others will help out I am sure.

    Jer, I think your M I.F. is actually M LF. The MD is probably the model and the cc on the other side is where the steel for the barrel came from.

    Ken’s close. It’s actually an Mle 1982 Bertier Carbine

    Yes after looking closer is is MLE and it does read 1917

    Anyone know how to find date of manufacture it looks like they were made up to 1917.
