Wondering if anyone has been on Big Creek and what the ice conditions are.

Went to a farm pond Friday by Banner and it had about two inches of ice. But I wouldn’t say is was good ice. My ice chisel went through on one sometimes two jabs at the ice

Ice conditions have steadily increased this past week.  It isn’t growing fast, but it has gotten a bit thicker.  Cold nights are holding and building a little bit of ice.  Caution as always in the south.

Fished two ponds this weekend in SE Iowa in the Fairfield area.  5.5 and 6 inches of ice, good ice too.  Hope this small warm spell doesn’t hurt us any.

    Thanks for the info.

I was on a pond Sunday the  10th by Indianola. It had about 4″ of good ice and about 3″ of compressed snowy/ice on top. The edges had already thawed to open water. Not even sure what it would be like this weekend.

Still 6 inches here in SE Iowa, we didn’t get much from the storm as far as rain or snow.  Slight warm up last week didn’t hurt the ice at all.
