Came in from pheasant hunting Saturday on the farm, and my 85 year old mother said there was a hen pheasant in the front yard with 9 small baby chicks. I thought that can’t be this late in the season in Washington county. Sure enough, that afternoon there she was on the other side of the yard with 9 baby chicks in tow. Awful cold last night for that small of chicks that can’t even fly yet. Anyone ever seen baby pheasants this late in the year?IhuntcursParticipantOctober 30, 2017 at 12:44 amPost count: 830
Nope I have not. She must have been determined to have some. Pheasant hunting this weekend in North Central was very tough sledding. Lots of corn still in. Worst opening weekend I can remember.Iowaman 71ParticipantNovember 1, 2017 at 11:58 pmPost count: 10
Not in my 30 plus years of hunting pheasant. They are several months behind the norm.
