Have a potential litter of Fox SE of house in a small town.  Has anyone ever left food for them?  If I was to any ideas on what to leave out?  If I come across a road kill may pick that up and leave out for them.  In England some people have half way tamed foxes.   I don’t want or believe a person should do that in Iowa.  Would not want a fox to lose their natural fear of humans.

Just my opinion but I’d leave them be. No reason a fox should be hard up for food this time of year in Iowa, even pups.

I hear what you are saying.  Just like fox and may supplement their food a little.  I do NOT what them to lose their wild – they need to stay that way.

I wouldn’t leave any food out either, it could attract other predators or varmints the fox don’t need to contend with.  They’ll have no problems getting the food they need right now.  baby bunnies, bird nests, rodents are all aplenty.
