Just wondered if anyone was catching any catfish or Crappie at Coralville or surrounding lakes.MisterTwoFortyParticipantSeptember 4, 2014 at 8:17 pmPost count: 1380
There are no fish in that lake – they were all drained out and put into Lake MacBride at the request of the residents living around the lake.
Some people do work – you need to allow a few days for a response. Or – go fish it yourself.sledmanParticipantSeptember 5, 2014 at 12:10 amPost count: 355
I fish McBride after 2 or 3 good freezes. Don’t know what this year will bring after such a hard winter.
I don’t mean ICE, but cold at night temps. I use casting bobbers and a 10′ pole. Last couple years had no problem keeping a limit if I wanted too. You have to know the lake. I fish from shore or ICE fish about the last 30 years! I have friends that spend a tidy sum going all over fishing. I just smile and listen to their stories.

Fishing has been really slow for crappies since spring, plan on hitting it hard this weekend.
