Took the wifey out shooting her Mom’s old Colt Agent. Noticed the firing pin wiggles up and down? It looks like it is replaceable, held in by a roll pin but should it be loose like that? I noticed it would have lite primer strikes double action, but they would fire single action. It is an earlier model with the unshrouded ejector rod if that maters.kenhumpParticipantNovember 15, 2015 at 11:30 pmPost count: 12770
Manufactured 1955-73. Agent looked a lot like Cobra. Does it have a tall blade from sight?
PS. I had an old colt that had a similar ‘loose’ firing pin. Gunsmith said that it is suppose to be ‘free floating’ . 😕orngruffeeParticipantNovember 15, 2015 at 11:38 pmPost count: 901
Yup. LWT version of the Detective Special. More research and it sounds like it is sposed to wiggle. Took the grips off too and the spring looks fine. Just getting old and weak like me I guess.
