Hey guys, I am researching a walleye fishing trip with my bros. at Clear Lake in April. We will have a boat with decent electronics, trolling rods, line counters, etc… We are all novice walleye fishermen, and any tips on typical structure and presentation to find fish in April would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
I fished Clear Lake last April and May. We had good luck just using a 1/4-3/8 ounce jig with minnow or leach. We would troll about 1mph. I also caught some walleye pulling crawler harness using a bottom bouncer. We fished Dodges Point and Billy’s Reef. We got our bait from Kevan Paul at the bait shop and he and his staff were helpful with putting us on fish. We are very new to walleye fishing ourselves and caught plenty. In addition to the walleye we also got plenty of yellows. In May we got some nice crappie in the reeds with cane poles.
