There have been a number of folks posting to the Classified ads. That is great but there are some simple rules also.
Update 11-4-2009 While Iowa Sportsman is happy to give our members a way to sell their extra items they no longer use. It is becoming evident that some people are taking advantage of Iowa Sportsman as a way to get rid of items they may have purchased at auctions or are selling items as way of making income. All ads deemed business oriented will not be approved. Members posting a ad for sale will need to have a minimum of 10 posts and be a member in good standing for 30 days to be eligible to post to the classified ads. •Currently ALL dogs for sale ads must be approved by an administrator, no exceptions.
•UPDATE! Added 11-17-08 All classifieds must include at least ONE of the following, correct EMAIL, phone NUMBER, plus LOCATION. Location can be County or city, but one must be in the ad. Ads not containing email or phone, plus location, WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
•Ensure the subject is short and concise. For example: “For Sale: Fish Trap Pro” or “Wanted: Youth Shotgun”
•If you include your email address, please release @ with [AT] and . with [DOT]. This helps hide your email address from internet bots that scan websites for email addresses. If you forget we will do our best to do that for you
•Please do not sell gift cards, they are simply too hard to validate and we try our best to prevent any fraud
•If you sell your item, please post a comment to the article with a subject of “SOLD”. This is necessary because we are using our article submission feature to facilitate classified ads.
•Be sure to include all the details such as price, whether shipping is included, phone number to call if there are questions, etc.
•Note that sometimes potential buyers will post questions in the comments on your item, please be sure to check them often
•PLEASE NOTE THAT IOWA SPORTSMAN TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR FRAUDULENT ACTS, DAMAGED GOODS, ITEMS NOT AS DESCRIBED OR ANY OTHER NEGATIVE ACTS IN THE TRANSACTION OF A CLASSIFIED ADD.
