Anyone been out anywhere in the cedar valley lately?
Thinking about heading out this weekend maybe while the fiance is at a baby shower 🙂

    Hows the ice?

Anyone had luck at any of the local lakes?

Fished north prairie a few times this last week. Ice is around 10 inches. Only caught a couple trout each time and picked up a couple nice gills. Marked a lot but found it was mostly 5 inch perch and 3 inch bluegill.

Yeah i always pick up schools out at North Prarie but have a hard time ever getting into anything (unless it’s stocking day)
I haven’t been out to Greenbelt in a few years, but also though maybe trying one of the smaller lakes at George W.

Reports from the bait shop (I work at Hank’s) are not very good..everything seems pretty slow and not much size. Ice is pretty good everywhere.

    Thanks for the info.
I noticed none of the CF/Loo lakes were listed in the DNR Fishing report this week. Guess I’ll just pick a spot and go see what turns up.

I have noticed a lot of pressure on South Prairie and for some reason the point in front of the DNR house on GW lately. I got away from the crowds at Grundy County last saturday and got a bucket of keeper gills and also a couple crappie.

I may go over to North Prairie Saturday and try for some trout, they may not be as effected by the pressure changes this weather brought in.

Has anyone been down to Pink Lake yet? I am interested in going for pike with tipups over there.

I’ll be on brinker Wednesday or Thursday after the cold spell is over. I’ve done pretty well in the past with decent sized crappies. I usually go out past the island and find them on the humps and near dredge cuts.

This is second hand info, but they were doing well on gils on Martins lake at Sweet Marsh by Tripoli last week end.

I wasted about 3.5 hours at North Prairie Saturday in the late afternoon. I, along with about 20-30 other folks drilled holes, moved around and didn’t catch fish. I won’t be doing that again that’s for sure.

I watched others and didn’t see a single fish caught the entire time I was there.

Went to brinker yesterday and fished the new area around where the old bouys used to be and only marked a couple fish. Then went out to some humps and drops where I’ve done well in the past and didn’t mark a single fish even after sundown. Going to try hickory hills this afternoon. Hopefully I can get on a couple gills but not too confident with the way this season has gone so far around here
