saw this video of a couple guys spearfishing below the spillway at Brushy Creek- it was posted in beginning of August this year
would anyone in the area know that the water there is still this clear at this time of the year?
also, if there’s still a nice population of carp and buffalos?
looking to get in one last spearfishing/ camping trip this year and don’t want to make the 3-hour drive unless I hear a good report on visibility
any help would be appreciated!grizzwald660ParticipantSeptember 6, 2017 at 8:14 pmPost count: 592
It should be clear. Hardly any water moving around here. I’ll check to see if it’s even going over the dam tonight.grizzwald660ParticipantSeptember 8, 2017 at 1:30 pmPost count: 592
No water going over the dam now. I didn’t walk to the bottom.stick500ParticipantSeptember 8, 2017 at 3:37 pmPost count: 456
Thanks for the report grizzwald.
Without any water going over, one has to wander if many fish even want to be in there now.
I think I’m going to switch gears and hit a new smallie stream I discovered in IL. Those bad boys are on fire right now and there’s even largemouths and walleyes in there, too.
Someday maybe I’ll make the big trip to Brushy for some different kind of fishing!
