Looks to be a couple Harris’s Sparrows. They are down in the southern US in the winter and migrate thru here on their way to northern Canada.
I’ve only seen them in Texas before and never seen any here in IA during their migration. Neat bird. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks guys! The numbers have increased to about 6 out in the backyard, although they are never in the same area for a group photo 🙁 They really seem to like scratching/eating in the raised beds which have leaves and grass clippings from last fall
