I was given a bear roast. I looked online and found several recipes. It has been 30 years since I made bear and I think mushroom soup was involved. I have 1 shot at a good attempt, so does anyone have a tried and true one.

Last time I did bear meat I marinated in a dry red wine, some spices and a little light olive oil. I don’t remember the exact spices but had it in the marinate overnight. Sorry but it was a long time ago.

I have shot a couple bears and I have always just cooked it like a beef roast in a *censored*pot with vegetables. I couldn’t tell the difference from beef once it was done. I believe it is all about taking care of the meat after harvest. If the person took care to get it cooled down quickly and kept clean then it should be very good eating.

I have kind of a weird question. Did you get this bear roast today and was it near Lansing?

Cook bear meat to 165 trichinosis is bad deal.

    I would try this recipehttp://www.mountaingirl.camp/recipes/bear-roast-recipe/
